Queen (2014)

I am writing this weeks after watching Queen. Instead of fading away, it’s memory has become a part of my vocabulary, and that of my friends. And I guess, it’s here to stay.

The masterpiece:

This isn’t a comedy flick which you can watch and live happily ever after. No sir. Queen will become a part of your jokes, your ideas and will make you happy every time it comes up.

Rani (Kangana Ranaut), a small town girl from Rajouri Garden, Delhi (that happens only in India?). She is about to get married to Vijay (Rajkummar Rao) — her college time love. She decides to go on her honeymoon alone when Vijay backs-out. The film is about her journey of self-discovery.

Kangana was mind-blowing, to add to that Lisa (Playing Vijaylakshmi) and Rajkummar were equally brilliant.

One of the most remarkable things about this film, that even some great films don’t have, is its timelessness. I wasn’t aware of the time at all. I just wanted it to go on and on and on… I think that’s a rare achievement for any film.

Really if I talk about this film it’s gonna be boring. There’s nothing to say other than praises. So stop reading about it & go watch it already.

Jai Mata Di!
